Every load comes with the file.

We cover flatbed freight across the Southeast, and every invoice arrives with a timestamped record of how the carrier was selected. If anyone ever asks how your carrier was chosen, the answer is already in writing.

How a carrier was chosen is now a question that can be asked in court.

The Supreme Court held that state negligent-hiring claims against freight brokers are not preempted by federal law. Shippers are rewriting broker agreements to require documented vetting, and many brokers can't produce a vetting record on demand. We built Cairn so that record exists for every load, from the first one.

The product

The Cairn File

A per-load carrier selection record, generated at booking and delivered with your invoice. A cairn marks a trail so the next person knows someone came this way and recorded the route. This is that, for your freight.

Recorded at the moment of booking

Authority, safety data and insurance are captured as they stood when the carrier was selected, not reconstructed later.

Identity, confirmed independently

We call the number on the FMCSA record, never the one in an inbound email, and get insurance directly from the carrier's agent.

Built for flatbed

Securement certification and, for oversize moves, permit records are part of the file, because that's where flatbed risk lives.

In your hands, not ours

The file travels with the invoice, so your team has it on record without having to ask.

A written standard, followed on every load.

We vet who hauls your freight. The carrier stays responsible for how it's driven and secured. That line is deliberate, and it's in our contracts.

  1. 01

    Send the load

Dimensions, weight, pickup and delivery windows. Including the ones your routing guide turned down.

  2. 02

    We vet the carrier

Every carrier is checked against our published standard, with hard disqualifiers and no overrides.

  3. 03

    Track it on one link

Each load gets a live status page. No portal, no login, fewer "where's my truck" calls.

  4. 04

    Get the file

The Cairn File arrives with the invoice. Keep it with your project records.

Our vetting standard is public. Read it.

The same checklist behind every Cairn File: hard disqualifiers, identity verification, banking-change protocol and evidence retention. Use it to hold any broker to account, including us.
